I have been playing a lot of golf over the past summer and have yet to achieve any substantially lower scores. This is partly due to inconsistency in my golf shots due to a habit I have of sliding my hips and moving my head on the start of my downswing. Are there any tips or drills to help cure this?
After playing around with some of the computer/camera technology at my local golf course I have found that one of the problems with my swing is that my pelvis is moving toward the ball on take away and then moving even closer on my downswing, which causes my hands to get "jammed" and I end up blocking the ball to the right. One friend suggested that I practice hitting balls with my butt against the back of a chair. I was just wondering if anyone had any other suggestions, drills, thoughts, or swing aids that might help. Thanks
I’m a 4 handicap, I take the club on an inside path, which I know, is the cause some bad shots and my distance not being on point. I sometimes even hit it off the heel or occasionally shank my lower irons (PW, SW) I’ve tried to take the club on an outside path but I sometimes end up hitting a cut or I come over the top and pull hook it. It just doesn’t feel comfortable. my grip is on the weak side, i feel do to the club being taken so flat. Any tips or drills I can do?
Thanks… I’ve taken some practice swings in the mirror and I can see where the club should be… My problem is it feels like I’m going to hit a massive cut…. or it feels like I may pull it. I’ll make my grip stronger, but i know I need to put the club in the "slot" on the downswing and hit more or less the inside of the ball. Should I actually feel the club dropping at the top, kind of like laying it off?
so ive been playing three years, and have gotten down to a 10 handicap. i am 17. i am trying to get more college scholarships, and to do so i need to lower my scores, my "coach" and i have not been getting along so i have taken it on myself to fix my swing plane. my issue is i drop into my downswing causing a looped swing, sometimes i also come out of my swing on the back stroke. are there any drills i could work on that would get me swinging on plane? thanks
I’ve been having trouble wtih a push and push slice in my golf swing. I’ve been trying to go more inside out but still have problems coming accross my chest….but like many I have a problem pulling my arms accross my chest early thus end up going outside in? Will early release of the club allow my arms to more naturally and easily go from inside out? Havent had a chance to go back to the range since i thought of this? What are you thoughts? Focus on the inside out and hopefully the cllub will realease in time…or focus on the club release and this will promote the inside out plane? Im trying to break the swing down in parts so i can figure this thing out…thanks.
i just went to the range and took a look at my ball flight…I dont think I have a typical slice…more of a push…or the extreme opposite a pull hook…after some research…i dont think i have an outside in swing plane…i think on the downswing i am over the top and am cutting down and accross the ball…so that if my club face is closed ill pull hook it…or if it is open ends up being mostly a push and sometimes slice if the face is extremely open…does this sound right?
Thanks for the help guys…i just got back from the range…after thousands of balls hit at the range…its finally clicked…i didnt have an outside in plane…i was coming down to steep then cutting across or down on the ball then i would pull across my chest….so that if the face was closed i would pull or hook it…if the face was open i would slice or push it…anyhow…figured that if i start from the feet and just let my club fall naturally so that its more sweeping action i would get that coveted in out swing plane…after i made an adjustment to the offset ( i was better with my 7-4 iron…until i understood that the shorter irons had less offset) …i would say 7 out of my 10 balls i had solid contact…the other 3 were either face open or closed…its finally clicked!

On my downswing i keep lifting up and it is causing me to hit a massive fade. Can anyone help me by giving me a drill or something? Thanks
Me and my friends have been having a discussion about which arm creates the most power in the downswing of a golf swing. We realise that power is being created by many different factors but just want to determine which arm creates the most power out of the two, the right or the left, any ideas?
cheers guys.
